Gossiping, trashing others and being unkind to others can
come about with just a touch of a button because of technology, such as cell
phones and the internet. It has always been important to teach your child not
to gossip, criticize others, and being unkind in general. But I think it is
extremely important today to emphasize this with your child. A tween may not
even realize how hurtful one criticizing text to another tween can be. All it
takes is just one unkind remark to another to be categorized as cyber-bullying.
It doesn’t need to take place in the hallways of school anymore with the use of
cell-phones and the internet. The technology today can make bullying way too
easy for kids, so if your child has a cell phone, talking with your child about
gossiping is more important than you may think.
