Family Internet Safety Rules


Here are some basic rules to go over with your child before they go online with their cell phone or computer:
1.      Never give out your last name, phone number, address or any personal information including any members of the family. This also includes any friends’ personal information.
2.      Never tell your age or any of your family’s ages.
3.      Never give out the name of your school, or sports organizations you are involved in.
4.      Never give anyone your password in person or online, but make sure your parents know your password.
5.      Never upload or download any pictures without asking your parents first.
6.      Never send any photos of yourself or family or friends.
7.      If anyone every ask you to meet them in person, immediately stop and tell your parents.
8.      Never use crude or rude language online.
9.      Don’t talk to anyone who uses crude or rude words online.
10.  Never enter a site that is “you must be 18 to enter”.
11.  Never click on pop-up banners or advertisements.
