Texting vs. Face-to-Face Conversations

Tweens should know that sometimes text messages are misunderstood because the recipient of the message can't see the sender's facial expressions or hear the tone of their voice. In face-to-face conversations, we can see each other’s facial and body language which can tell us a lot.  Tweens need to be educated that they are responsible for what they text to another person. Sometimes jokes and sarcastic comments can be taken the wrong way in verbal conversation, well just think about sending this message over a text. It can cause hard feelings to the recipient since you cannot see any facial or body language. We all know tweens are in the stage of growing emotionally and there are some days tweens can be ultra-sensitive, so just think how it would feel to get a sarcastic text message on that day.
